Thanks guys.I'm an EMO wreck. My mom is handling this a lot better than me. I cried my eyes out but then I realized I was actually crying about my nana and a bunch of other stuff in my life and that I was basically having a NERVOUS BREAKDOWN.

I am now wallowing in my break down and fully intend to listen to only sad songs and stuff for a few days until I get good and tired of reveling in my misery and snap out of it. No one else may understand but I'm sure in his infinite wisdom, MS already had this all figured out.

I heard someone say the other day that we all have expiration dates. See? That's the kind of shit I'm going to roll around in for awhile until I get all stinky and sick of myself. 52

Hey User, sorry about your grandmother.

My grandmother died in 2007 and I went to her funeral. I was very close to her when I was young. She took good care of me and she was my favorite.

When the Reverend asked if anyone would like to say a few words, I went up.

I got so choked up as all the memories came rushing back and I just sobbed like a baby.

But it was good, you know? It told me how much I loved her and vice versa.

This emotional low will pass and you'll have your memories of her.

I'm sorry about your Nana, honey.

I know you don't want to accept all those pix your Mom has been trying to give you & your sister but I think one day you would be very happy to have them. They are memories and will be fun to look through them with your grandchildren & your kids as adults.

Words of wisdom.

We have many pictures of departed loved ones, that we couldn't look at, at first. However over time, we now have come to cherish those pictures.

Take the pics and leave them in a box in the closet until its time to bring them out. Kids and grand kids (then maybe you) will be glad you did.
I have a couple pics of my grandmothers but none of my grandfathers. They are the people that contributed to who and what we are, to me that's kind of a big thing.
Today it might not be to you, but you don't know about tomorrow and you can't judge that today for your kids and grand kids tomorrow.

Okay. I'll go through the books and at least pick out a bunch to keep.

Death sucks. My Nana is still communicating by blinking her eyes yes or no and she knows a lot of her family is with her but everything is just shutting down. Like somebody is dimming the light. Sucks.

I found out that, like me, she's specifically asked to be cremated with no memorial service. I wish I had attended her birthday party but I couldn't; too much stuff going on with my daughter. That sucks too.

Pretty much everything sucks. *wallow-wallow*

Wait a week or so after she is gone, get dressed up and have a few family or friends over, Toast Nana in her new digs, keep it to yourself why your smiling or share it, whichever works for you.

More than likely...some other forum told you to fuck off.

Its still the same old story fakepoo, I can lose weight, I can wear build ups in my shoes like the artist formerly known as Prince.

Your face however will always look like it was carved off by a serial killer with parkinsons disease then put in a hessian sack and beaten with rusty spanners for two days and the resulting slop piped back onto your head like icing on the ugliest fucking cupcake in world history.

Do you know she was given last rites yesterday morning but as of today she's still blinking and aware as far as I know? I need to read about last rites. From a distance, it seems like a cross between cruel, kind and mostly bittersweet. *scratches head* You Catholics are weird. Smiley_emoticons_slash

RE: The 2013 Trivial, Boring Drivel Thread.... - Duchess - 11-12-2013

The last rites are a sacrament, one of seven if I recall correctly, the first being baptism. It's done to remove all sin & insures she enters heaven in a state of grace or pureness, if you will.

Yes, Catholics are weird, I say respectfully to avoid the bolt of lightening from the sky.

Me too, that's how I know how weird it can be. Archaic even.

Sally has been away. I wasn't nosy enough to ask about it so my imagination had her husband taking her out of town for a few days so she could decompress after the stress of the past weeks.

My friend aussie is quiet too.

Pretty sure she's either knee deep in school work or snagged herself a hard-on finally, so she's excused.

I wish NIghtOwl would give a hoot though - she hasn't posted in a long time.

Yeah well, believe it or not she's "improving". Big surprise She smiled today, was able to acknowledge people and ate some applesauce or something. The "smiling" part made my fucking day, I'll tell you. She has a no feeding-tube directive so the fact that she ate...wow. I hope she passes quietly in her sleep some night.

I'm freaking amazed.

When my mom told me, I made god damn sure that they only do the "last rites" shit once. My mom tells me it won't happen again. Phew. Maybe she should do some sinning in this grace period, right???

I'm glad (and a little surprised honestly) that she wasn't medicated to death by this point. I'm sorry (Sally) if that's a painful comment. :(

Didn't I tell you guys I passed on the job? They invited me in for a second interview and to meet the staff etc. I finally came to my senses and withdrew my name from consideration. I don't know what the hell I was thinking (except I wanted to be wanted, lol). Seriously, I have enough going on in my life right now--this would be about the worst time for me to add a job to the mix.

Besides, it's was really going to mess with my gym schedule.
