I tried to keep it going, I really did. But then people started being nice to me and it makes it hard.

They didn't really mean it or you were drunk and misread the post. Nobody really likes you; they just want to harvest an organ or two.

Any chance you'll be visiting California soon?

lungs and kidney maybe. Liver is shot. Now where'd I put that hacksaw?

Meh, she smokes I think. They're doing face transplants these days. I wonder what you could get for a face on the organ black market these days?

I think we could work pretty well together, Clang. Just promise you don't freak out like that guy in Florida and ruin the merchandise by eating her face, k? A half eaten face could really mess with the profit margins.

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - Clang McFly - 11-30-2013

As long as her face don't smell like fried food and I don't find food flavored bath salts, I think I can resist the urge to eat her face.

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - Older Than Dirt - 11-30-2013

Absolutely, you sincerely wish your parents would fuck off into a home because you are too fat and lazy to look after them.

No one doubts your sincerity in this regard.

Did everyone have an awesome holiday?

I did & I can't wait to do it again in few weeks. Not having an agenda to adhere to was wonderful. I hated to see it come to an end.

Had a great weekend, but stuffed myself even after I'd made plans to avoid eating like a pig.

Just told my wife, 'no junk food or overeating until the 22nd'.

She just laughed.

Thanksgiving is next week. Where the hell did Summer go? Got plans?

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - username - 11-17-2014

I'm flying (grumble, grumble) to Southern California with my son--mom's cooking! Love3

I'm not sure if my husband or daughter will join us there. We're driving ourselves crazy trying to decide what happens next with her. The proverbial rock/hard place.

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - Duchess - 11-17-2014

Can't you just say this is what you're doing for the holiday as a family and leave it at that? I'm just curious. I've never seen anything like this before.

Which part? Me yabbering on about it or the fact that we might not be together as a family for Thanksgiving?

In either case, no.

Gotcha. I'd really like some normal about now. It wasn't always like this. Her therapists asked me to bring her pictures...I brought a random stack and we went through them. She played all the sports (soccer, baseball/softball, basketball), we had great times on vacations etc. My favorite pictures were the ones where she exhibited absolute, childlike, JOY!! It was always a little bit challenging but in 8th grade she just fell off the cliff (for lack of a better description).

The last two years have been hell honestly. I had a minor break down myself over the whole thing (which was why I wasn't posting much for awhile). I physically and emotionally hit a freaking wall.

Yeah, a little normal would be heaven. Who am I to complain though? She's the one that's missing out on school dances, crushes...all the regular teen stuff. Breaks my heart every fucking day.

Now if that isn't a cheery Happy Thanksgiving post, I don't know what is. hah

Is it pee can or pah con?

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - sally - 11-17-2014

I say pah con. My grandpa(the one with OCD) use to drive all the way to Georgia to pick them for my grandma's pah con pie. She knew he was crazy too.

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - HairOfTheDog - 11-17-2014

We're staying put for Thanksgiving and I don't think any family is coming to visit.

So, I'm cooking for just a few and making turkey noodles with the leftovers. One of these days I'm get the turkey noodles just right; like my mom's.

Yesterday I asked my niece if there was anything she wanted to make. She told me she'd like to whip up the mashed potahtoes. She said it so seriously; made me laugh. I always say potaytoes. I don't remember her ever using that high falutin' pronunciation before, but she insists she's always pronounced it like that. I think she's screwing with me. Again.

ETA: wonder what kind of trouble that old lush OTD is getting into these days.

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - QueenBee - 11-17-2014

Hey, any turkey cooking experts here? I have been hearing about cooking the bird upside down for part of the roasting, like an hour. Anyone hear of this? Even stuffed? I would be afraid I would drop the damn thing on the floor when trying to flip it, though.

It is times like this I miss LC. She knew about this kind of stuff.

RE: THANKSGIVING WEEK - Carsman - 11-17-2014

We're braving the cold here to continue on with our traditional family Thanksgiving Dinner at out house! Too much food, and too many deserts, plenty of refreshments, as usual, and that's what make it a fun time for all.
(lately each year, it always seems to be a few less)
