Have you ever asked yourself why the US and French revolutions ended in two completely different ways? The idea of Socialism has been around for centuries, long before Marx wrote about it. Socialism is a European concept; our founders rejected it, the French embraced it. Truly the difference boils down to only one word. Our revolution was about the rights of man, the French was the rights of men. Theirs ended with the guillotine, ours with the largest expansion of the worlds GDP. Read the 5000 Year Leap. I agree inequities have happened, and in many places continue to happen. The question is what is the solution to the problem? The simple solution is do what our founders did, chose to side on the rights of the individual. Hence the problem with progressives/ socialists; they want to create groups of classes as FryGuy stated. It doesn't work, and it never will because of human nature. The free market is the solution; if people want something some one will figure out a way to make a profit off it. I have said repeatedly educate yourself, progressives have been systematically changing history very slowly over the past 100 years. DC is out of control; and both sides of the aisle are to blame. If we apply the founders solution, we take bake the power the states granted the federal government through an Article 5 Convention of States. We allow individual states to decide. As for other countries ,they are free to choose our solution as well. They can adopt our constitution , it's on line for free. I could be wrong but I think it may even be called the pink tax. I never thought of that, but if Gillette is pandering towards women I think they should change the name of their stadium because of the sexist overtones, RE: A Debate on Feminism - Maggot - 01-16-2019 That and it seems women always seem gravitate towards the higher priced item. RE: A Debate on Feminism - BigMark - 01-16-2019 Is being online free? Is that like Obama phones? RE: A Debate on Feminism - Fry Guy - 01-17-2019 There are various reasons for differences in prices. Number of ingredients or parts, degree of difficulty to make, cost of production, also how much the consumer is willing to pay. If my barber tries to jack haircuts to $25, see you later. Some women pay much more. Barber will stay on $20/cut I have no idea the cost to produce a lady razor to a male razor, nor do i have a clue how many of each are made or whatever.....but i can tell you those complain about the difference in cost have no idea about these things either RE: A Debate on Feminism - MirahM - 01-17-2019 ********** Penalty to Fry Guy for going over sentence allowance and word count. "wholesome and innocent", is that another way of saying they were virgins? Have you ever taken someone's virginity? Describe your ideal woman. I'm genuinely interested in reading that. Of course, my wife was a virgin when we met; she just turned 18 and came to the bar where I was bouncing to celebrate with her best friend. But that was last century. As I have mentioned, I am older than most here. I will turn 60 very shortly. Why would wholesome and innocence make you think of virginity? Sex has been around for centuries; prostitution is the worlds second oldest profession (politics is the oldest). Before feminism sex was implied, Mary Ann, Ginger, Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, Jeannie, Agent 99, Miss Kitty they were damn sexy ladies. What they weren't, were foul mouthed and lewd. I taught my daughter to admire positive role models, not women that sell their moral principle to the highest bidder. I am reminded of the old joke: Him. Would you have sex with me if I gave you $1,000,000,000? Her. Why yes,, I think I would. Him. Would you have sex with me if I gave you $10? Her. NO! What do you think I am? Him. We already established that, now, we are just negotiating price. IMHO, this country was a better place when June Cleaver and Donna Reed were the role models for little girls not Miley Cyrus and any Kardashian. Talent and intellect should be your reason for fame and fortune not your sex tape. I will agree we could agree there is probably a happy medium between those two groups, maybe Jane Curtain, Gilda Radner... My ideal woman is my wife of course, she s my partner. We share every thing. RE: A Debate on Feminism - Fry Guy - 01-21-2019 Feminism preaches an ideology that pathologises men, rewrites history and disempowers women, whilst purporting to be about equality. And vilifies women who disagree; women whos goal in life is to be home maker, wife and mother. And God forbid they disagree with abortion; those heretics need to be burned at the stake. |
