NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - Duchess - 09-02-2012

Have you ever experienced a natural disaster like flooding, earthquakes, wildfire, etc?

I felt an earthquake here on the East Coast but it was pitifully small and had no business even being termed one. It did feel kinda cool when the earth undulated, I wouldn't want to feel a big one though.

living in Mass.~~monumental historical blizzards (like '78). and howling Nor-Easters. ocean gone wild. fishing boats lost at sea. (see 'The Perfect Storm')

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
living in Fla.~~lost count of the hurricanes. flooded streets with live power lines down, tornado took roof off house next door. shrieking banshee winds, no power for days in relentless heat, sheer terror. trees coming down and threatening homes. boats thrown onto US1.
AND, if you were stuck on one of the bridges, you and your car could be swept over at any moment, into the ocean.
extra added bonus, if you had a Keys resident sticker on car, you could line up on the only road entering Keys for a couple days at a dead stop in torturous heat. with people shooting at each other from total misery and frustration. trying to get back in to see if home still there.
Earthquakes are pretty fucking awesome. If you like feeling instantly irrelevant there's not much that can top a strong shaker or a solid bump. We west coasters don't even get out of bed for less than a 5.
He speaks true. Generally you wake up long enough to make sure nothing's falling off the walls or on your head, then you roll back over. I had one in vegas that rocked my little camper but I thought it was my brother screwing around and shaking it to scare my girlfriend. She got pissed and drove home, I got even more pissed and went looking for him. Luckily before I found him she came roaring back in and told me it had been an earthquake, because it was one of those times I looked down and was surprised to see a baseball bat in my hand. Startled me more than the earthquake...
The architecture of that cathedral in the background is bee-u-tee-ful! Do you have any photos taken closer to it?
It is gorgeous ESAD. I totally forgot where you said you live. But it looks like a really pretty area.
Suffer a natural disaster?
Let's see... there was this ginger I met in college. . .
RE: NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - ramseycat - 09-02-2012
I got lipgloss on the inner lining of my pink Coach bag. The whole house shook when I saw it. It was a disaster of major proportions.
"Pink Coach Bag".
Is that the vernacular these days for underaged ball sacks?
Um, no. I can't believe you just said that about my Coach bag. Dramaqueen
RE: NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - OnBendedKnee - 09-02-2012
I can't believe you would disparage underage boys who are willing to let you leave your pink lip gloss on their ball sacks?!
RE: NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - ramseycat - 09-02-2012
Now that was just nasty. I am mad at you.
RE: NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - OnBendedKnee - 09-02-2012
That's only because I am not underaged... otherwise you would giggle at everything I whisper to you. . .
RE: NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - Riotgear - 09-02-2012
Am I the only one that just checked my ballsack?
Pray Clang doesn't read this thread and have a desire to do as you did. . .
RE: NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - Riotgear - 09-02-2012
Actually I hope he does. I've developed some great advice for him. I just don't know how to deliver it without him taking glee in the act of refusing it. Might not be possible. Or I might not give a shit.
RE: NATURAL DISASTER & YOU - SIXFOOTERsez - 09-02-2012
