RE: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, OR DO THEY? - HairOfTheDog - 06-23-2016 (06-23-2016, 11:01 AM)Duchess Wrote:(06-23-2016, 10:52 AM)Maggot Wrote: Did you see they lost track of the Orlando shooters wife? It's not confirmed. Some headlines at non-credible sources seem to be based on her father-in-law's statement that she was not around there anymore (she was staying with him previously), conflated with an interpretation of statements in Attorney General Loretta Lynch's State of the Union interview. That's what I figure, anyway. If I'm wrong and authorities have actually 'lost' her, that's a major fuck up. I believe authorities are all over the Orlando shooter's wife, his father, his in-laws, etc. If they're letting the wife and baby move about, let's see where and to whom she turns. That's what authorities did with family members in the San Bernadino mass shooting. LE investigated the San Bernadino couple's family for months, ultimately arresting three of them who claim to have had no knowledge of the couple's activities. The federal charges against the family members are not related to the terrorist attack, but instead making false statements and participating in immigration fraud. They face years behind bars if convicted. http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/278032-san-bernardino-terrorists-family-members-arrested If those family members know more than they let on about the couple's activities, they have motivation to share and possibly get some consideration for their cooperation. Correction: I was mistaken about Marquez's wife (also the killers' sister-in-law) being deported in my post last night. Federal LE instead decided to charge her with federal immigration fraud; she faces 25 years in prison. It will have cost Republicans their jobs = the majority. The Democrats will rule everything after the next election cycle. They have learned nothing from the Donald Trump fiasco they have created. Dumb Dumb Dumb RE: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, OR DO THEY? - HairOfTheDog - 06-23-2016 I know things that are clear to me and others are often blurry to you, Gunnar, based on many of your posts. That's true especially when there's subjectivity and context involved, even after things have been explained to you -- I haven't and wouldn't contest that. It'll be interesting to see how the Democrats' protest on the House floor plays out, Duchess. One thing's certain, they got a lot of exposure for their cause and themselves with the historic sit-in. It was really something to see and hear. The fact that our country can't even come to an agreement over that "un-blurry topic" is also a testament to your intellectual prowess. Pat yourself on the back HotD. You really hit that one out of the park. I have to admit that a lot of what goes on there confuses the hell out of me and it's probably obvious by some of my posts. I genuinely do not understand some of the opinions, I've had to go back and reread/re-watch something thinking I've missed point. It makes me feel dumb and I don't like that. For example, the past few days I have heard that 80-90% of Americans would like to see the no fly, no buy bill passed, yet those who work for them refused to do their job. Some Republican members compared the proposed measure to the internment of Japanese citizens by the US government during WWII, and another said, "reasonable suspicion" should not be allowed to deny the right to purchase firearm. I'm disgusted by these people, sickened, they make my lip curl. You really hit that one out of the park. You're still confused and projecting that onto others, plus trying to attribute a lack of government action on a very divisive political issue to your own confusion. And, you're butthurt. I'm not inclined to pat myself on the back for grasping basic subject matter; it's not a major accomplishment. This stunt will bring as many pro gunners out to vote as it will gun grabbers. That's one thing pro gunners do and do well, we call, we write, we come out in numbers and vote against the people that try and step on our rights. This little stunt will backfire on the Dems. More likely it was a spontaneous outburst of frustration on the part of genuinely decent people being stymied in the simplest of protective measures, led by a man who was one of the OG civil rights leaders back when it meant something. That it went so viral is a testament to just how many people are sick of stories that begin with slaughter and end with nothing changed.(06-23-2016, 01:53 PM)HairOfTheDog Wrote: It'll be interesting to see how the Democrats' protest on the House floor plays out, Duchess. RE: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, OR DO THEY? - HairOfTheDog - 06-23-2016 Unless you're part of the very small percentage of the population on the Terrorist Watch List or No Fly list (which is a fraction of the Terrorist Watch List), your rights aren't even at issue with the vote the Democrats were pushing for last night, F.U. Plus, you're an extremist. A much larger percentage of gun owners support No Fly, No Buy than oppose it. The NRA will continue to make noise, as will the ACLU, and some vocal gun owners. But, the noise is louder from the much larger group of people who protest, write their congresspersons, and advocate for additional gun control measures. I don't know if yesterday's House protest will finally convert into some near-term action, but the political climate is much riper for that to happen than it has been for as long as I can remember. I think the publicity garnered by the sit-in will probably benefit the Democrats much more than it will hurt them, whether a No Fly, No Buy bill is passed or not this year. RE: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, OR DO THEY? - F.U. - 06-23-2016 Not on Cspan, on the Dems grasping for ways of gaining votes by doing what they do best. Sit on their asses and cry like pussies. RE: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, OR DO THEY? - F.U. - 06-23-2016 I wish I could find out how a person gets on or off those lists. That is my concern. Did I just get placed on that list because seconds ago I just did a google search on how to do just that? Am I on that list because I am a loud and proud firearm owner that hates the government and visit militia web sites and groups? Am I on the list because I frequently send emails to a friend that lives in Pakistan? Exactly what does it take to be placed on that list? What does it take to be removed from that list? How do I know that the government that I don't trust cant just randomly place people on that list to restrict their firearm rights? I have lots of worries about this. In theory, just banning terrorists from buying guns, is a great idea, but I am sure our corrupt government wont use it that way. RE: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, OR DO THEY? - Duchess - 06-23-2016 FU, you come across as neurotic a lot. You worry about your guns, you worry about being told what to do, you worry that your email is watched, you're concerned about a variety of things in regards to the Government. Unless your life is radically different than what you've shown in here then I don't think the Feds are watching you from outside the cornfield. Why would they? RE: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, OR DO THEY? - F.U. - 06-23-2016 (06-23-2016, 02:59 PM)Duchess Wrote: Neurotic, really? Ok I will admit to the phobic , obsessive–compulsive, portion of the definition, but the rest? Really? If that is how I come across that is the very reason I would be watched. I hold a FFL, A FCC license and a passport, so I would be very easy for the Gov to look into. I am far from , flying under the radar, as they say. All I want to know is what it takes to be on that damn list and WTF it takes to get off it. I need those answers before I could get behind any law involving it. Those who want these laws passed are not gun grabbers. Stop calling them that. |
