One theory about the abrupt recess involved some reporting by Geraldo Rivera of Fox News.
Baez alleged in his opening statement that Casey Anthony suffered sexual abuse by her father and brother. Those factors and the family's dysfunction led her to lie after her daughter's "accidental drowning" in June 2008, he told jurors.
Rivera also shared details about the Baez lunch with Juan Williams on "The O'Reilly Factor" television show.
He observed: "He [Baez] wanted that jury to know that those parents feared Lee Anthony was the father of that child. That's why they didn't want him involved in the baby's birth. That's where he was going. The judge stopped it."
Rumor has it the Judge has put the trial on hold while they confer on the violation of Attorney-Client Privileged communications that took place while Casey and her defense council discussed how they might tamper with evidence; namely the location of the childs body.
A legal issue that Mason brought to the court's attention. One that he felt comfortable talking to the state about, but yet the state was not initially involved in the backroom discussions.
Maybe it had something to do with what Lee Anthony overheard his parents talking about. He brought it up on the stand during his testimony. Then he went and talked to Baez about it. I don't know, but I smell a rat. Lee Anthony's testimony about being hurt because he felt left out was bizarre.

And Mason just now found out and decided today to inform the court? And Baez was giving him sweetheart pats on the back during the attorney huddle. Sorry but that does not sound like something the defense team would out themselves on. Maybe Casey told something to Mason in confidence that Mr Ethical could not keep to himself.

my opinion, there is no point in speculating what happened behind chamber doors saturday, in fact unless it's something explained or obvious monday morning, we may never know. might as well have a nice day away from trial sunday.

Judge Perry is doing all he can to prevent that, including hold motions for mistrial to end of case. he also has been perfect in his record, i have seen no errors from the bench. he is scrupulous and experienced.

OK Judge is on, late. says court appointed 3 mental health experts, emergency order saturday, to determine her competency. WTF this should have come up long ago!! i'm waiting to see where this is going. are they going to try to plead her insane??? fuck that! what a cheap slime move!
oh thank God, the court found her competent. whew!! defense is desperate.
Well Bless Mason's little heart. He was thinking that maybe his client was crazy, and just had to bring it to the court's attention. What a bunch of nothing. Mason might have had better luck if he would have asked for a competency eval on Baez.
OK bull dyke ann finnell is there. she's the death penalty specialist. so this was cunning. they get it in the record so during penalty phase and subsequent appeal they can point and say they question casey's sanity. you cannot execute a crazy person. this was a shrewd move. it won't help them at this time, the trial moves on.
and ann finnell is filing a motion (i'll bet) in re: the south florida ruling about death penalty. it was made clear that applied to ONE case only.
