The 2013 Trivial, Boring Drivel Thread....

Nom Nom Nom.

Maybe it's a good thing I don't like to cook. If I could make things like that my ass might be as big as Texas.

You know the one in a nursing home? I do his PT with him everyday since his insurance company won't pay for it. I wash his hair and give him a shave. I clean up his room and do his laundry. And we sit and talk. I am there so much, other residents think I work there. SO DON'T EVER GIVE ME SHIT ABOUT NOT WORKING. What I am doing is far more important. I will have plenty of time to work once my brother is gone.

Who's worked up exactly?

Settle down Beavis.

EDIT

Fuck you ramsey. When you were working you didn't take FMLA to take care of things... stop playing the saint card. Oh yes, the unemployment angels got you fired so you could take care of your sick brother, right? Eat a dick.

Don't mistake my disdain for you playing the sympathy card as anything other than that. I'm sorry your brother is sick and that you are going through that... but to somehow weave it around not looking for a job is total hack jive.

Did you miss the part where I said I was looking go a job? If I get a job offer, I'm not goung to turn it doen. I didn't take FMLA when I worked because my brother lived with my mother. Plus, I didn't want to put my job in jeapordy. They do fuck you over even though they are not supposed to hold it against you. I've seen it done. The day I got laid off was the day my brother was taken to the hospital and he then ended up in the nursing home. I won't get into the details. The timing of my lay off and him needing me is no coincidence.

BTW, I have worked since I was 15 and never filed for UE or disability with the exception of two maternity leaves. At some points before I had kids I worked two jobs and once I even had three.

Your wife doesn't work does she? And you resent it because she couldn't even bake you a cake on your birthday. I'm nothing like that.

Ramsey, I don't care that you're taking the summer off or that you are collecting UE. More power to you. It's not like you're some cracking smokin' lazy cow who has never worked a day in your life and depends on the government to support you. I think you're very lucky to have this time with your brother, getting laid off when you did was a blessing in disguise.

Exactly Duchess. If I was working I would never be able to be there for him as I am now. If the time comes and I have to work at McDonalds because there are no other jobs, then that's what I will do. Having this time with my brother is worth more to me than any job. My brother and I have always been super close. He is my best friend. One of the girls at the nursing home told me the other day how much she admires our relationship. How obvious it is how much we love each other. She is pregnant with her second child and she hopes her kids grow up to be as close as we are.

Happy Administrative Assistant day! Nice that you take her to lunch. Our company ordered an edible arrangement last year for all of the people who assist in the office. I doubt anything will show up today.

Watching a report on stupid things that people are doing these days (and posting on Facebook and youtube).

The cinnamon challenge has been around for a while. A doctor is saying that some kids (and adults, WTF) have done it so much that the cinnamon is gumming up and lungs are collapsing.

The two other challenges that are all the rage:

1. Condom snorting.

2. Vodka eyeballing; supposed to make one look like a badass and get one drunk faster.

Craziness.

If they really wanted to impress they would have done it with used condoms and flaming vodka.

Has anyone seen this recent news story? I hear there was a documentary about it a few days ago. It seems to be a human who was able able to live for 6-8 years and remain only 6 inches in length.

The specimen has only 10 ribs, a finding not yet found in humans, and a very unusual cranium. It is noted that the cranial vault is, proportionally, much larger than is found in normal humans. The bones are quite well developed and are not those of a fetus.
