With all the people the U.S. has over there the ones that get hurt are in the minority and are a bit rare. The media tends to expand and generaly create a fear that extends to families in the mainland. But looking at the statistics it is still a rare occurance no matter how the media twists it.

There are certain units that take huge casualities. ²⁄₈ Marines and 101^st Airborne Army are the first two that come to mind. The ¹⁄₅ Marines have taken a bunch of casualties this year, too. Injured is more than you know. They don't release the information on the injured too often. I think you'd be surprised.
