I never paid much attention to music in campaigns til last week when I read that Kid Rock gave Romney the okay to use his song "Born Free". Just prior, Silversun Pickups demanded he stop using "Panic Switch" and rapper K'naan demanded the same with his song "Wavin' Flag". Apparently, there isn't a valid copyright complaint, but candidates can be sued for false advertising if they use a song because it implies that the artist endorses the candidate.
