My mom hired a private detective to follow my dad and then confronted him. According to the skeletons that have fallen out of that closet thus far, he was meeting a woman for coffee and stuff (yeah, I don't know how much "stuff" was involved) and my mom was told by someone she knew.

As legend has it, she confronted him with all their tax returns and financial statements in hand and he ended the outside relationship.
