Ordinary Peephole Wrote:Yes, my dog tries to communicate with us, big time. He will stand there and not bark, but make sounds like he is controlling himself desperately, to make garbled words. It sounds something like a drunk wolf perhaps. His range of vocabulary is amazing. If I tell him to go get a certain child of ours by name he will go to their bed and check it out. The combination of that with his expressions and obvious sensitivity and awareness make him quite special in my book. Of all the dogs my family or I have had, this one is the smartest by far. And they were all smart pure breed labs previously, while I was growing up.Middle Finger Wrote:My dog is half way to human - emotional, sensitive, anxious, etc. he tries to talk, has a wide range of vocabulary, and really does look and act like a person much of the time. He is a part of our family - he is just not some pet we harbor.
Anthropomorphism. You perceive human like characteristics in a non-human.
"he tries to talk"! ::lmao::::nuts::

My dog pays attention to who is in the house and protects us, no doubt in my mind. He emotionally needs to be with us and is totally loyal. He is far more human like than any pig could be.
