2021 murders in the US by the weapon used
yup, 15,000 folks were murdered in 2021! 0.0004% of the population
for you folks less proficient in math that is 0.000004 or 1 out of 25,000 people.
13k were murdered using a firearm - 2k by other means: knives, clubs, bats, hammers, bare hands, rope, drugs, or fire. so, 1 out of 27,000 was murdered by a firearm.
on the other hand, deaths in the US by cause:

3.4 million people died in 2021; again, for the mathematically challenged that is 1 out of every 100 people!
just to be clear here, 4 times as many people died from an "assault liver" than by firearms.
an assault liver killed my wife last July; when are we going to BAN assault livers?
