Oh I may have a problem similar. I have renter's insurance. I wonder if it will cover it.

I borrowed a starlink dish over winter, sent it back to them in April. Seems it is damaged now. Shit.

They were trying a new cord, haven't heard yet if it works. I wonder how they are going to handle it. 
Do I feel bad? Yes.
Was there any signed/written contract between us? No-other than emails/texts that could possibly be used.

I have a tendency to just pay things and avoid confrontations, its the easy way out for me, but I'm not getting any richer at the moment, so I may just put up a fight.
