Some more details, according to police:
--Officer Guyger, 30, had recently moved into the apartment complex.
--She had just finished a 15-hour shift.
--She mistakenly parked on the wrong floor and didn't notice Botham's red welcome mat or the wrong apartment number when she put her key in the door and it opened.
--The door opened to the dark apartment because Botham Jean hadn't locked his door that night.
--Guyger detected movement inside the apartment and thought she was being burglarized, so she just shot in the dark (totally negligent for any responsible gun owner, much less a cop, in my opinion).
