I read the same, sal. So, police are either withholding or the older boy Robert isn't coherent enough for them to secure a motive yet.
I agree with you that Robert Bever looked nutty even back in the old family photo, which looks to have been snapped about four year years ago (I think the baby on grandma's lap is probably the 5-year-old girl who was killed).
Robert would have been about 14 when that photo was taken.
Personally, I don't think meth-rage is the motivator here, more likely mental illness. But, who knows?
