My son got to choose a topic for a poem and he chose me. 
Mom
She wakes me up each morning to go to school
She never misses a day, which is pretty cool
Cereal or waffles is the morning fare
A good breakfast is one of the ways she shows she cares
She picks up the kids in the daily carpool
The day has started and we’re off to school
School is out and I feel great
She’s in the car and I never have to wait
Off to the skate park I’d like to go
But its homework first she lets me know
With homework done it’s time to play
Pursue your passion she likes to say
When darkness comes, it’s time for dinner
No matter what’s on the table, it’s always a winner
Mom – you support me in everything I do
These are some of the reasons why I love you
Cereal and waffles...yeah, I'm a great parent.

Note to self: buy the kid an alarm clock. It's about time he got his own ass out of bed.
