As Tom Hanks once said in the movie Bachelor Party, "If I was that kid (a 3 year old) I'd breastfeed til' I was 17 or 18."

Not sure how that makes any sense in this context, but someone will figure it out for me.

I know women from all walks of life do that. It has nothing to do with what one has or doesn't have but every single time I see it being done in a public setting I immediately think, "low class".

Today I feel a tiny bit bad for saying they should hide. Not enough to rescind it or anything like that but enough that I think some things are better left unsaid.

Just like some things are better left unseen in public.

A man eating at TGI Fridays snapped this picture and posted it on FB. The mother later saw it and threatened legal action because posting a photo of a minor without the guardian's consent is illegal. She said she'd do it to shame him like he shamed her. 78

They need to hide in a closet & do that shit.

Maybe at least somewhere other than a window seat at TGIF

I feel like I should be more accepting of this but I just can't get past the cow/udder like aspect. So many people view that as a very moving moment between mother & child but I cringe when I see it and I border on skeeved.

I don't see why it's so hard to just look away instead of having to get all up in somebody else's business. That guy is a fucking creeper for taking a picture of it also. I bet it's in his wank bank.

Exactly, which is why those stupid breastfeeding activist cows should at least use a cover up. For something they claim is so special and bonding between mother and child you'd think they wouldn't want a bunch of freaks gawking at them at TGIF's and Walmart.

I'd vote for this post if I could.

The guy is definitely a creep and jerk for posting the pic. The woman is an idiot. All it takes is a little, tiny baby blanket for chrissake.

It's kind of hypocritical...she didn't care about her privacy in the restaurant but then when the pic goes online all of a sudden she's up in arms about her right to privacy. Go figure.

I didn't spend a lot of time looking but I question whether it's actually illegal to post a picture of a minor, online, without parental consent. Really? So if I'm at the beach and take a pic of my kids and there are kids playing in the background, I could be breaking the law? Something smells here...I call bullshit.

It does seem like a bullshit threat.

It's not a crime to post a picture of minors in public places without parental consent.

It would only be a crime if the photo of the chid was sexual in nature.

Maybe that's the threat the mother is using against the photo poster?

Along the same lines as what you said about the privacy irony, how could she claim the photo is sexually explicit when advocates for public uncovered breastfeeding claim that society wrongly views breasts as sexual. If not for the breast, where's the "sexual" part of the photo? In the photo-taker's mind? I don't think that would fly in court.

I agree with everyone else that the guy who took the photo is a creep. But, it's not a crime to be a creep.

I don't know about there, but I think the law is when you are in "public" you are in "public". However, if you are a suspicious male doing that kind of stuff it won't be long before police turn up and start grilling you. The tolerance level around that stuff these days is low. If I caught someone doing that to my child, I would probably confront them.

hah I love saying that. I've said it a few times irl and the look on people's faces is priceless. I laugh every time. I only do it with those I know. I did it in the car just the other day shortly after being in this thread and her jaw dropped open. I tried to remain serious just to dick around with her but I can never not laugh so it ruins it.

They all want us to know that's it's perfectly acceptable to do this. They say they are hitting back at critics.

My urge to moo at them is strong.

Ironic is a few pictures they actually have coverups but are not using them.

Way to stick it to the man, breastfeeders.
