REVENGE PORN
#1

Have you heard of it? It's when a former lover posts your naughty pix online in an attempt to humiliate you. There may soon be a law regarding it and it could entail a fine AND time spent in jail. What do you think?

Ain't right, but a lot of things aren't. SO, be really sure you want that camera running

I did read a little about the proposed legislation and have mixed feelings about it.

It takes a really emotionally-stunted dipshit to post private pics for the purpose of humiliation. It's not fair to do something like that to someone who you once loved (or with whom you were at least intimate).

But, not everything is fair and lovers have been taking racy shots of each other since the invention of the Polaroid Instamatic, if not before. A disgruntled ex could have copied and mailed/distributed photographs to all the neighbors, the church group, the employer...even back then. Some did. The internet isn't required to exact this kind of revenge (though of course it makes it easier and helps the dipshit reach a wider audience more efficiently).

IDK. I guess even though the pictures in question would have (presumably) been posed for consensually, since the posting of them is not consensual, adding yet another piece of behavioral legislation to the law books in accordance with technological advancements makes some sense.

Disappointing that it's even an issue.

Yea I think I agree, not really a fan of the nanny state myself.
There are entire sites dedicated to this type of porn

Why would you put your face in the pictures?

I have sent naughty and sometimes graphic pictures to my husband, but NEVER once was my face or any identifying marks in those pictures.

Just curious as to why that is, nrkerr, you little minx.

Were you afraid that your husband might do something with them without your consent?

Or, did you just figure that if someone else happened to see your husband's private photo collection that they'd assume the personal female nudes to be someone other than his wife?

Btw, have a very Merry Christmas; gotta be nice to be on break from school for a bit.

I just didn't want to chance anything happening. Someone steal his phone, he get drunk and shows his friends...anything.

He has taken video of acts, and I make him delete them if my face is in them...which he has.

Merry Christmas to you as well. I am so happy to be done with school for a month. Next semester will be my hardest one yet.

I see, nrkerr. Thanks. Good luck next semester!

Revenge porn: This story was in the CBS news block this morning.

One of those "old school" emotionally-stunted disgruntled exes was arrested yesterday in Concord, NC for plastering copies of nude photos of his ex girlfriend at the retail business where she works, along with all of the neighboring businesses and a Walmart a few miles away.

His name is Victor McCullum. He's 42. I'd love to post HIS picture, as the (alleged) asshole of the week, but couldn't find a mugshot yet. The woman is in hiding and has not been identified.

Major Gary Hatley of the Concord Police told reporters that there was a lot going on with the former couple over the last few months and it culminated in this act of revenge. Police are taking it very seriously.

McCullum has been charged with stalking and burglary (not clear if he stole the photos off of her camera or what).

Canadian Case: is this type of "revenge porn" really "child porn"?

Snip:
A Canadian teenage girl has been found guilty of distributing child pornography in connection with "sexting" pictures of her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, the youth crown prosecutor for Victoria said Friday.

The British Columbia case of the then 16-year-old, who is not identified because she is a minor, is believed to be one of the first cases in Canada where a teenager has been convicted of child pornography charges related to "sexting."

Calling the case "precedent-setting," prosecutor Fisher said the case should serve as a warning to teens about what they text and post online.

The case began in November 2012 when the teen learned that her 17-year-old boyfriend was still in contact with his former girlfriend.

The teenager initially threatened the ex-girlfriend on Facebook, the prosecutor said. She then texted five explicit pictures of the ex-girlfriend that she found on her boyfriend's phone to a group of people, Fisher said.

The teen's attorney, Christopher Mackie, said the charges were inappropriate.

"Our sights have always been set on the constitutional question. ...She never denied that she did this," he told CNN. "Online bullying, yes. Child pornography, no."

This is one of those rare times that I agree with a defense attorney. The girl's actions were stupid and hateful; it doesn't bother me that they were considered criminal. Bullying, yeah, I can see it - charge and convict her of that crime.

But, personally, I don't consider her a child pornographer or sex offender.

She's out on bail awaiting sentencing.

She's a bully and a nasty little cow but she's not a sex offender or child pornographer.

Two ten year old boys were put on the sex offenders register recently in the UK.

Be interesting if the paedophiles meet the ten year old sex offenders.

“Hello little boy, do you want to see some puppies?”

“Yeah!, and your cock!”

I like it insofar as it acting as a deterrent. I want people to feel as if they are really risking something when they engage in that type of behavior.

Looks like one asshole in the revenge porn business might end up getting a bit of revenge porn he wasn't bargaining for..

Los Angeles: A notorious "revenge porn" website operator and another California man have been charged with stealing nude photos from hundreds of hacked email accounts and posting the images online.

Hunter Moore, 27, who has been dubbed by some media outlets as "the most hated man on the internet" and the "revenge porn king" was arrested on Thursday at his home in Woodland. FBI agents also arrested Charles Evens, 25, of the Studio City area of Los Angeles.
Evens pleaded not guilty in a Los Angeles court while Moore appeared in court in Sacramento but didn't enter a plea, US attorney's spokesman Thom Mrozek said. Both remain jailed.

From 2010 to 2012, Moore ran a website called isanyoneup.com that posted nude and explicit photos, including some submitted to the site by former lovers and spouses without the permission of the people in them. Alongside the photos, Moore included the name and other details of the people depicted.
The photos included an "American Idol" finalist, the daughter of a major Republican donor, and a woman in a wheelchair, according to a 2012 article on Moore in Rolling Stone magazine.
According to the indictment, Evens was paid for providing Moore with nude photos that he obtained by hacking or using other means to access hundreds of email accounts.
In an email to Moore, Evens said what he was doing was illegal, and in other emails, Moore offered to pay Evens $US200 ($A230) a week and asked him to use an anonymous PayPal account to avoid detection of the scheme, according to the indictment. Evens was paid as much as $US900 ($A1033) at one time, prosecutors contend.
Moore told BBC that he made as much as $US20,000 ($A22,967) a month in advertising revenue. He ignored cease-and-desist orders and scoffed at challenges to the ethics of his site, although in 2012 he finally sold the website to an anti-cyberbullying organisation, saying his notoriety had resulted in people sending him a flood of child pornography and other images.
But he defended the site as well, even though he acknowledged in the 2012 BBC interview that posting the photos could "definitely affect someone's livelihood."
"I just monetise people's mistakes that they made, and it's kind of a shady business. But if it wasn't me, somebody else was going to do it," he said.
In a 2012 interview on CNN's "Dr. Drew" show, a woman who called in to the show chastised Moore for refusing requests to remove naked selfies of her daughter and alleged they came from a hacked account.
"I'm sure she sent the pictures to a million different guys and just ended up on my site just like everybody else," Moore said, although he added that he didn't want to hurt her daughter.
"I'm sorry that your daughter was cyber-raped. But, I mean, now she's educated on technology," he said.

I'd like to see Moore get what's coming to him; wonder how he'll plead.

If he'd legally obtained the photos and did what he did, I'd think him a scum, but maybe not a criminal. However, it appears that authorities have good evidence that the pictures he posted and refused to remove were hacked/stolen. I hope their evidence is strong, at least.

He's a complete asshole.

I had sent pictures to my then boyfriend while he was overseas for almost a year and I was well aware of the dangers. My face were not in them from what I can remember but I do have a tattoo. However this person and I were in a relationship that I felt was going to go the distance and unfortunately it didn't. I hadn't sent pictures before then nor have I sense then. He promised he wouldn't show anyone or release them etc...

When we broke up he claimed he deleted them and I said okay great but didn't believe him.

Months after we broke up and we were fighting the first thing he threw in my face, IN WRITING, was that he would release the pictures to my family, my employer and anyone else. This was prior to this whole revenge porn becoming popular. I told him he releases one photo and I'll take his ass not only to court but to the police station for the simple fact I had it in writing he wouldn't release them from the start and then I had it in writing that he claimed he deleted them and is now black mailing me. He started back peddling real quick and saying he was joking and I told him an implied threat will prove to be just as damning and he should watch what he says. He started claiming he deleted them again.

Crash

He was upset because I was going through tough times and because of my injuries from a car accident I lost my job and had to move all my belongings into a storage unit. I moved in with family. When I had people do this for me everything was boxed up and he knew this was taking place. I had a hockey jersey of his and a duvet blanket. The hockey jersey was for a team he played for (not professional) and gave me the jersey while he was over seas.

I had told him that if those items had meant so much to him than he should have come to get them when everything was being packed up. He knew this was happening. So he wanted his items back. So several months passed while I lived with family all the while he harassed me and finally after that communication I told him he'd get them when I moved in a month. Which he did.

He also failed to understand I tried meeting with his cousin in the very beginning who bailed on me but that apparently didn't matter. But once those things were In storage I had no idea where they were. So when I did give them back I also gave him back every love card, note, flower card etc he ever wrote (which were really sweet at the time) just to prove a point that isn't how you treat someone you supposedly cared about like that at some point.
