After 33 yrs in late night television, he is hanging it up.
Let the gossip over who will replace him begin -
Chelsea Handler's show is ending this year and I'm hoping she is asked to replace him.
Mr. Letterman, who will turn 67 next week, is considered by many critics and fans to be the most original voice in the late-night format, and several of his comedy bits, including Stupid Pet Tricks, Stupid Human Tricks and his nightly Top 10 list, have become indelible pieces of contemporary American culture.

I'm not really into late night talk, but I always preferred Letterman over Leno.

I rarely got to watch him but when I did I enjoyed the hell out of his wise ass-ness.

Meh . . . he came across as mostly an angry, bitter old man to me.
He was an insufferable old bastard after he had a kid . . . another Kathy Lee Gifford . . . droning on and on about parenthood.
