Do you feel like an adult?
#1
I know most of us work and pay bills and raise kids. But do you feel like a grown up? When my parents were this age it seemed so much older. My parents were fun and my dad loved being goofy with us kids so they were not old like.

Sometimes I feel like I'm still a young lady. I look at my kids and can't believe how old they are. I can't even believe I'm going to be 50 this year. It's sounds so old.

A couple of months back I turned 60. Not sure if I feel like a grown up, but my mortality hit me smack in the face. My mom took sick with cancer when she was 60, and died before her 66th birthday.

Not sure if I answer your question, I married late, have no kids of my own. Still get to retire in 6 years (with the morbid addendum of if I live that long.)

I feel more responsible now, knowing that soon the steady work income will be gone. My financial irrespponsibilty is finally behind me. So, I have been drawn kicking and screaming into adulthood.

I don't feel grown up more than I feel grown up. I'm not a serious person at all and view life mostly as a joke. I don't mean that like it sounds. I want to have as much fun as I possibly can and I don't want to have regrets at the end of my days on earth. I "ride" life every day.

Old isn't old like it used to be.

I only feel old if I have to think about this kind of stuff...

30 yr high school reunion last year.

Seeing kids I babysat for with their teenage kids.

My first born almost 27.

My first granddaughter almost 5.

Stuff like that. So glad you'll be 50 before me. I'll have 8 months to make fun of you...hah

Seeing the passage of time right in your face can border on mind blowing.

I always feel like an adult because of the responsibilities that come with adulthood, but often have as much or more fun than I did as a child or young lady when I get to play.

Then there are days that I feel like I'm 90.
