BILL COSBY ACCUSED OF RAPE
Camille Cosby -- What Did She Know?

A federal judge in Massachusetts has ordered that Cosby's wife, Camille, must testify in a civil case filed against him by seven women who say that he defamed them. According to the New York Times, on Thursday, United States Magistrate Judge David H. Hennessy of Massachusetts ruled against arguments made by Cosby's legal team that the deposition would represent an "undue burden" upon his wife of nearly 52 years. On Friday, Cosby's lawyers said they would appeal the ruling.

Hennessy did not limit the scope of questioning, which means that, during the deposition, scheduled for Wednesday, Camille Cosby would likely face questions about her knowledge of her husband's treatment of women throughout the course of their relationship.

Lawyers for Camille Cosby have filed a motion to delay her deposition until her appeal of the federal judge's order for her to testify has been resolved first. "Without a stay of her deposition, both Mrs. Cosby’s privacy and freedom will be put at issue in a case to which she is not a party, and for which she is not alleged to have any personal, first-hand knowledge," the motion reads.

Hennessy has granted Camille Cosby a stay in her deposition, delaying her testimony so her lawyers can appeal the magistrate's order. She was scheduled to be deposed in Massachusetts on Wednesday.

Cosby's civil defense team won one battle. One of the defamation suits filed by an alleged victim, Renita Hill, was tossed out two weeks ago. The judge ruled that Cosby's statements, his wife's statements, and his attorney's statements that his accusers needed to be fact-checked and were making unsubstantiated fantastical innuendos did not meet the criteria for defamation in Pennsylvania. http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/21/us/bill-co...dismissed/

His criminal defense team is currently fighting to get the sexual assault charges against him thrown out too. Castor, the District Attorney who declined to prosecute Cosby when Andrea Constand filed the police report against him 10 years ago (he says he believed her, but it was too hard to prove), reportedly told Cosby that he wouldn't be prosecuted later. The new D.A. says there's no proof of such agreement and it shouldn't be legally binding anyway. The judge is expected to rule soon. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/peopl.../79745308/

The judge ruled against Bill Cosby today.

Cosby's team had argued that the previous D.A., Castor, told him that he wouldn't prosecute Cosby after Cosby gave testimony in civil court (Cosby settled the case). Castor confirmed that he told that to Cosby.

But, there was no legally binding agreement that Cosby couldn't be criminally prosecuted later, nor that his sworn admissions in civil court wouldn't be used against him in criminal court.

So, the next step is a pre-trial hearing in criminal court to determine if the new D.A. has enough evidence to prosecute Bill Cosby for aggravated sexual against against Andrea Constand.

This is one of Bill Cosby's rape accusers. I thought it was freaking Howard Stern for a second. Jesus Christ Bill, wtf is the matter with you!

Andrea Constand does look a little like Howard Stern in that pic.

She was a kinda cute athletic type 11 years ago when she filed a civil complaint against Cosby after the prosecutor told her it would be too difficult to get a guilty verdict in criminal court.

I just saw a headline saying Bill Cosby has been ordered to stand trial.

This made me happy. I am hoping he is held accountable finally, for his crimes.

Didn't I hear he's got some dementia stuff going on?
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

He hasn't looked good since all this got going, every time I have seen him going in and out of court he has a hand on one of his lawyers being guided in and out, looking lost. Might be an act

I'm still sometimes astonished that Dr. Huxtable is a goddamn perv, a serial perv at that. Thanks for the memories, you fucker. I hate being disillusioned.

He's not the only one that did it back in the day but he is the richest one. I wonder how many rock stars from the 70's and 80's were porking 15-16 yr old girls in their trailers after doing some drugs. It doesn't make it right but back then that's what they did. Studio 54 comes to mind.

I'm not trying to defend him but it was a different time back then. How many 16 yr olds got pregnant during Woodstock, I remember those days yessiree. jerry Lee lewis was a bit pedo too.

It sounds a whole lot like you're trying to defend him when you essentially claim, repeatedly, "that was acceptable behavior for celebrities back then", Maggot.

It was not acceptable behavior, even back then, for anyone to deceive someone into taking a drug which would knock them out in order to rape them. The victims were less able to come forward back then though, that's true.

Comparing the serial rape allegations against Cosby to groupies who willingly did drugs and had sex with rock stars, Studio 54, teen pregnancies, and men who like jail bait is creepy and illogical, in my opinion. It's also insulting to men. I think there are very few men who want to rape the equivalent of a dead body or a rag doll.

Since you claim to know that other celebrities back then serially drugged and raped women under false pretenses, who?

I don't think it's all that illogical because a few of them went back for more. They had something to gain from it. You'd think after the first time you wouldn't come back anymore, right?

I know you blame the women who he assaulted more than once. I understand your thinking from previous exchanges in this thread, sally.

Some of his accusers never went near him after their 'screen test' because they knew he did something to them. Others did.

In all cases, I blame the person lying, drugging and raping people for his own actions. It was never an "all American, everybody did it" kind of thing and I think it's weird to try to characterize it as such, no matter how one feels about the women.

I thought the same thing, Hair, but got distracted.

I probably am the only one on Mock old enough to tell you how it was back then, and rape was never O.K. It remains an under reported crime because of the tendency still today to blame the victim.....that hasn't changed much. The mindset that guys used drinks, drugs, etc....and all was O.K. is just not accurate.

I think there has been more clarification of the law, i.e, yes, a wife can be raped. If a woman is under the influence of drugs (to include alcohol), she/he cannot give consent, and on and on. I won't be redundant and list all the reasons women don't come forward. Just when you think everyone gets it, they don't.

In any case, I am so happy that this criminal is going to have to be accountable for his crimes. His wife enabled him to hide the truth all these years, but you will find people in Crosby's social/business circles who knew what was going on....just research it...people ignored the truth because he had fame, power, and money......

Most of them didn't come forward because they put themselves in that situation. Are you going to go party at the Playboy mansion and then wake up and tell the cops that you think you've been drugged and raped, but you can't remember exactly because you're a party girl? No.

He's the scum of the earth and they're his victims because they put themselves there.

I think everyone feels that way.

Some of the women never went near him again because they knew or suspected he'd done something to them, sally. He acted like Dr. Huxtable and lied to them about wanting to be a mentor and help them succeed. He ingratiated himself to some of their parents under those false pretenses. He also lied about what he gave them and why.

If you think the ones who he met under other circumstances and/or who maintained contact after they knew or suspected what he'd done were asking for it, I'm not gonna argue that point again. I understand your thinking already.

My point is that nobody is responsible for Bill Cosby's actions except Bill Cosby. And, I agree that he's the scum of the earth. What he did was unacceptable and illegal then, as it is now. I'm glad he's been exposed.

Let the trial dictate the outcome. Conjecture on the part of third parties is irrelevant.
