CURVY WOMEN
#1
Can curvy women be beautiful?

I'm moved to ask your opinion after reading about the designer, Karl Lagerfeld, who said, "no one wants to see curvy women". His preference was to dress emaciated women, he felt his clothes looked better on them.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."  Margaret Wolfe Hungerford in Molly Bawn, 1878

I find these self-proclaimed "Curvy" women to be quite beautiful: 75 Most Beautiful Full-Figured Women on Earth

Especially Lynda Carter: she has been my ideal woman since I first saw her in "Bobbi Jo and the Outlaw" in 1976 at age 16. (Wonder Woman became my favorite TV show after I saw the movie).

Lagerfeld was a strange man in the sense he believed weight loss should be for aesthetic . . . rather than health reasons (do you remember his diet book?).

Me . . . I have three thoughts regarding Lagerfeld and "curvy":

1.)  Economic - More outfits using less fabric = higher profits

2.)  Personal Style - He preferred a personal style and wardrobe like that being worn by young, thin, and "pretty" males

3.)  Curvy: The antithesis of his physical desire - The anorexic look destroys any of the traditional physicality associated with a woman . . . rendering them into thin, pretty "males".

He considered a size 4 "curvy"!   hah

That's as nuts as when I saw 10 & 12 referred to as plus size. I remember when a size 0 was the holy grail. That's such a horrible thing to aspire to. *sigh*

How funny is that?, pyro loves Lynda Carter too. A woman has too look like one, thin is not sexy, at all. A perfectly curved body, a scent, brunette, blue eyes, a curved up nose......a smile.... those days are over.

I can handle a bigger woman.

People like Lagerfeld helped to create a culture of body shaming, then other people stepped in to profit from the resulting insecurity.

Why do we tolerate these sorts of people?
