This might be a taster. My father came from Belorussia, i have Russian, Pole, the Baltics, Norwegian, Dane, and even Icelandic. I have Aegean DNA, thats the isllands off Greece and Turkey, amazingly on my fathers side.
My mother comes from a part of northern Italy that is Yugoslavian really, Slovenia, Croatis Serbia, and was an ancient gateway to the east. I have Balkan, german, spanish, Hungarian Austrian, Czech, Albanian, Levant, that is Syrian, Lebanon Isralie and arab.
Tke region she came from was an ancient spice route from the east. I have 2 per cent italian in me, not northern italian, but southern italian, amazing. Like her, i have no dna in me from where i live, i have no anglo saxon or celt whatsoever, not british celt anyway. My mother also has baltic blood, remarkably, like my father. Incredible. The spanish stuff may have been about Hannibal coming over the Alps, she lived in the hinterland of the Julieane alps.
Im sure the spanish left a few bastards around.
And all of this came to be at the Dorothy ballroom in Cambridge, in the 50s. And will carry on through my son. His mothers parents were from Cork.
