Last night I watched a show called "102 Minutes" on the History Channel. It had footage I've never seen before (like a lobby counter with blood all along it, presumably from the victims of "exploding" glass on the front of their building) as it was comprised mostly of stuff by amateur video tapers that just happened to have their cameras going, although one guy was a pro doing work at Times Square. It was very moving. After it they did a half our show on the people who did the video taping, which was very cool. It was moving to hear what they thought as they were taping. One girl didn't quite register it was people jumping out of the building. She wasn't prepared to accept that level of darkness, etc. It was also creepy seeing the faces of firefighters and others mobilizing to go to the WTC knowing they never made it out.

The damage, fear, and drama for the few block radius around the WTCs was more intense than I think most people realize. The "smoke clouds" were more "solid" than most people think, too.

I saw the EXACT same show. It was chilling and an incredibly account of what happened that day. Maybe the best one I have ever seen. Was very moving.

The "The damage, fear, and drama for the few block radius around the WTCs was more intense than I think most people realize. The "smoke clouds" were more "solid" than most people think, too" was what trapped my xwife in her building a few blocks away. they could not get out and many of the doors were blocked or the police would not let them leave the buildings for their own safety.

My wife was in the City during it, but mid-town. When the second plan hit I knew it was purposeful and started getting terrified that much more was to come. Like, a larger coordinated attack all over the City, bombs, etc. For a little while there I was wondering if I'd see her again. Very scary day. Thankfully we were able to communicate fairly early on so I wasn't in total fear the whole day.
