What is it about sex that is sucha deal breaker to some ?...Why would people in 20-30 + yr. old relationships end a lifetime of wonderfullness & goodmemories over infidelity ?...This is not a political thread...Mock is for fun & politics is not funfor me, its serious business...To me, there are so many other things in a relationship that carry more weight than sex...I'd be a hell of a lot more worried about an emotional relationship than I would be over a one night stand.

If my ol' man were to mess around, yeah, I'd leave him. If you keep your man happy at home he has no reason to look for sex elsewhere. Trust is everything in a relationship and if you lie to me and go behind my back to fuck someone else, you're gonna get kicked to the fuckin' curb. One chance. One time. If I catch you, you're history. End of story.

Yep, it's a betrayal. If you wanna fuck around, be honest about it and get out of the relationship to do so, male or female.

If you can't be honest to your nearest and dearest, how could you be honest to your constituency?

Duchess - are you talking about people who are together for a long time and then stop having sex for years, sometimes decades. Sex IS a part of any relationship. It is as important as many of the other factors that are parts of why 2 people are together. And if that stops and it was a big part of your life, sadly many people go elsewhere to find that missing part. This is not a male or female issue. It is both seeking something that they are missing in their current relationships.

I'm talking about people in long term relationships who end it all over a one night stand...That just seems such a waste to me...After reading my post, an older, wiser friend told me that I was being blase', that I didn't understand the level of betrayal that encompassed...Maybe I don't, I've never been in that position...I just can't imagine letting a piece of ass ruin my life and everything I've built...I don't think that one night of passion should override a lifetime of wonderful.

Not necessarily so! Many stray for the sake of it. Many men stray like this thinking it's "manly" to aquire such a 'women count' as it "proves their manhood". I even know some women who fool around because of "well, men do it why not women" crap.

You commit to a long term relationship and you should accept the good with the bad. Sometimes there are dry spells and it's up to one or the other to get that dry spell stopped! You don't say "fuck it, I'm going to find it someplace else." In Edward's case couldn't he wait till his wife is dead? OR divorce her? He lacks self control PERIOD.

If you've taken your vows before a priest or other religious ceremony that means you believe in those vows as well as the civil ones that bind you. To me, the infidelity is even more agregious! You've now betrayed your 'higher power and belief system'.

If you are so lacking in self control, you have no business in a long term relationship. Stay single!
