Is this a "historic" speech?
#1
The internet is already buzzing. News stories are talking about it all over. Is this one of those speeches that is remembered for all time?

I have no idea, but this happened today and I have already had it emailed to me 6 times in different mass emails. so people seem to be talking about it. I AM NOT even a Barack supporter and I have not made my decision yet.

Is it a "historic" speech of memorable importance. Who knows - you decide...

::dunno::

I don't think Martin Luther King needs to worry about his place in speechmaking history.
We need to punish the French, ignore the Germans and forgive the Russians - Condoleezza Rice.

I'm not really interested, but I have to wonder why a presidential candidate is now campaigning in foreign countries.

since we are at war, he needs to show that he can handle foreign policy, which i believe has been one of his bigger issues to address since he has not had that much experience in that area.

Oh it's historic alright, if you call setting the stage for the anti-christ historic. Our entire world and it's people are chronic copy-cats. The fear to just evolve and "be" is coupled with our need to rule or become the upper-most controller.

His speach is historic, but not in a good way.

I saw the whole stupid speech happen live as it happened.

I found it empty and all fluff. I also thought the goof in the crowd with the "I love JFK" poster was one indication of the kind of people voting and liking this empty headed boob running for president.

He sees our image in Europe's eyes more important than how he's going to solve the problems of his own country. Which, by the way, he has yet to address. He only spews empty slogans and how he's the man for change. Any potential president does not go overseas and puts down the country he is trying to become president of!

Try researching his voting record in the senate. It's empty. completely empty. He's not made one single policy to be voted on, one law changed or one single bit of anything pertaining to his job as senator. What makes him think he's qualified to be president if he hasn't even done his job as a senator?

Damn the political speeches during campaigns! Go check the PUBLIC RECORDS of the job each candidate has done and make your decision. Speeches are empty and useless.

Politicians are NOT rock stars. Obama is a snob. A pompous snob and I trust he'll get elected. I see the Mayor Dinkins effect all over again. Elect the brother! We need someone who understands us. When he shows his true colors as any other politician and not the "brother" they want him to be they'll elect him right out after the first term - just like Dinkins, just like Carter.

Obama is as black as you are Liquid and anyone who thinks he's going to solve the worlds problems is as big a fool as he is. You don't elect someone because of his color and a lot of his votes are coming from just that.

McCain is no treat either. I may not even vote this time around or I'll write someone in. I just don't know.

Oh and its AN HISTORIC not A Historic you boob.

You guys and your grammar and spelling issues are just so dumb and boring. I wonder if you will ever realize how stupid that looks. You always have to bring it up to mask the fact you have very little to actually say.

Back on topic - that was a good reply Antagonist but sadly the out of control and endless media blitz that exists in our world is going to decide the popularity contest, not actual issues sadly.

But just think how stupid you look posting incorrectly like that and then bitching on other topics when people use big words you don't understand.

So tell me, who's stupid? YOU.

Aside from the obvious stupidity factor on the above, You're right about Blank Barack.

He's bitched again and again how horrible Americans are because we cannot speak other languages and he's in the SAME BOAT. Every country he visited this week he needed an interpreter with him.

Glass houses buddy.

That's why we get along. I can't abide dumbfucks. Like Squid for example. How does one person whine and complain and moan so much about a place they visit of their own free will??? If it is so fucking bad here, don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. Nobody begged for him to be here anyway.

I can't abide pissy, whiney bitches any more than I can stupid people.

I am not a supporter of either candidate. I feel as many do about the republican candidate. My views on the democratic candidate are not popular. I think that when the democratic candidate wins the election all his promises will be hushed because of a larger issue. This is an issue that was already figured out prior to his running. As for his color, I don't feel that it is of any significance because, let's face it, when has it ever been significant in this country? Other than making a bundle of money during the slave trade and building the plantations, railway systems, and shipping companies into multi-trillion dollar organizations many, many times over, no black person has ever or will ever benefit due to the color of his/her skin. That's not racist, believe me, it's just historically accurate.

When someone of color is put into any type of controlling position, it is to calm the masses. It is a control mechanism and nothing more. Don't believe anything you hear or read. In today's society, you can really only rely on just half of what you see.

There is a storm over the horizon with this guy in charge, and it will be a long and rough ride
