three fucking huge koi...

A buddy is relocating to Hawaii and he needed a good home for them. This same guy built my koi pond and water feature last year...3000 gallon with two streams and falls with a 412 foot deep pool. I put three babies in last year and they've grown to about 7" but the new boys are big bruisers at about 14" and a couple pounds each. They all seemed to make friends before they closed down for the day due to the water temperature. Should have four to five inches of ice in January and they usually make a grand appearance on March 21st after being in cold mode for the winter.

They're just cool as shit pets...

My co-worker is always talking about his koi pond, apparently koi can cost in the thousands, and he's a conspicuous consumer if I ever saw one... it's his greatest dream to park his Cadillac Espadrille right next to his pond filled with pedigree koi. (Yeah, I know I spelled the car name wrong, I'm too lazy to look it up and I thought that looked funny anyway.)

I had a neighbor in Oregon who raised koi... only her 'koi pond' was the size of a small lake, no lie. You could take a boat out on it.

It was very cool though, she had a dock you could walk out on and feed the koi. HUGE fuckers, but some of them were really pretty. Yes, apparently she got a lot of money for some of them.
