HYPNOTIZED
#1

Has anyone reading this ever been hypnotized? I've been considering having it done in order to get over my fear of flying. I'm fearful enough that when I told my boss I wasn't flying for work anymore that I knew there was a chance I could lose my job & I didn't care, not an iota. There are places I want to go & the only thing holding me back is this ridiculous, paralizing fear.

Both my uncle and aunt were hypnotized to quit smoking about 20 years ago. My uncle walked out of there and never smoked again and my aunt lit up a cigarette right away. I don't know, I think if you go in there believing it will work then your chances are better.

I'm also scared of flying although I've been on 6 planes in the past 3 weeks, two of them were 10 hour flights. I just drink lots of beer and try not to think about it. Actually the worst part of flying is waiting in line at the check points in the damn airport.

Nope never been hypnotized and don't really buy it.
I too am on the Xanax bus when it comes to flying. I used to love it when I was younger. The older I get, the more I don't like it. I love traveling, just not the flying part. Probably becaust it takes all freakin day to get anywhere these days. Even if the flight itself is only a few hours.

I tried once, but it did not really take for me. I hear you really have to believe it will work in order for it to actually work.

Every time you daydream that is a form of hypnotism. When you daydream just be damn lucky nobody walks by and says "You are now a chicken". You may cluck putting your socks on.

Hypnosis cannot make you do what you don't want to do.

If they say they can cure your fear of flying its crap, but if they say they can make you want to fly that may work, especially if you really want to .

Hypnosis is an exercise in suggestion. During hypnosis, one person, the hypnosis, makes suggestions to another person, the subject, regarding the perceptions, feelings, thoughts, or behaviors that the subject can expect to experience. That was from "THINK PSYCHOLOGY" BAIRD 2010
Hypnosis is all about the power of suggestion. For example, suppose that I were sitting next to you on a bus or airplane and I have been scratching itches, and you noticed and commented: Have you got poison Ivy? and I replied no my girl friend gave me crabs and head lice. Through the power of suggestion, you are going to imagine the creepy, crawly, little critters on your body, and soon you will be scratching itches yourself, if you are not already after reading this.

I've never been, but I have reason to think it plays off of how much you believe it, like QueenBore said. It's sort of like religion in that way. So if you feel weak-minded enough, give it a shot! Smiley_emoticons_smile

Ok, so I've been hypnotized before and here are my thoughts on it.

I went to one of those stop smoking deals they have in hotels in your area a couple times a year. I do believe that people can be hypnotized, but I also believe most of it depends on what kind of mood you are in. I was in a room with 20-30 other people and that is on your mind too. They had some Saw Horses in the room and they stretched some guy out on them at his neck and ankles with nothing in between. They picked one woman out of the audience to sit on his chest and then they picked me to sit on his knees. They also had others from the audience lying beneath him. He never broke in two, in fact he never even flinched. He seemed to be in a very deep sleep. It didn't work for me that time, but I believe it could. You have to do something like that with a positive attitude and an attitude going into it that says it will work. I would like to try it again with a certified doctor, one on one, but with my boyfriend in the room with me. He wants to do the same. It would seem to me that would be the ideal time to take a few hits from the one hitter. I would certainly be relaxed.
I do know of 3 people that were hypnotized and quit smoking for good. I also know of some that it didn't work for.

So, that's my opinion on it....sorry for the ramble, I'm stoned..104103....yez......I..........is..Smiley_emoticons_razz
