Would you dismiss good looks in favor of a good heart?

When I was younger, hell yeah. I was a very shallow young person. If he wasn't good looking I wasn't dating him, no fuckin' way. I was a cheerleader, I HAD to have a hot boyfriend. With age comes wisdom, I've since learned what is important. While being good looking is still important it no longer tops the list.

The guy doesn't have to be a model, but I would still need to be physically attracted to him no matter how good of a heart he had.

Nope..not looks. I mean, I am no prize, so for me to demand good looks (or at least what society considers good looks) it would be silly.
Rick is far from what the mainstream views as great looking..though I find him really handsome, to me. He is a big guy, and that is a turn off for some I am sure.
But ya know, at the end of the day, he can put up with me and some of the bullshut I can dump on him, so he is a keeper.

I was a major idiot when I was younger. On the plus side I was far more concerned about character and a pleasant attitude than about looks but on the minus side I wanted a girl friend to be extremely healthy and with a nice figure. I was worse than Jerry Seinfeld with excluding women because they fell a little short of perfection or were nearly perfect but overweigt or with some "flaw". "Man hands" indeed.

Of course it had to be a woman who wasn't too concerned with material things but it wasn't hard to exclude them since I looked even poorer than I was really was. Unsurprisingly I spent much of my youth without a girl friend.

But missed opportunities is mostly what my life is about so it should be no different in this.

It depends on the "looks". I'm sure there are obese people that are truly kind but to me, obesity is a sign of weakness. That's the part I couldn't get over. I don't need model good looks but if someone is slovenly...that's a deal breaker. I want to be with a guy that has enough self-esteem to be healthy and fit but he should also be a guy's guy. If he spends more time in front of the mirror than me, he's out. No metro-sexuals for me.
