The "one sheet on the bed" thing.

I wouldn't be able to sleep naked with just the bottom sheet.

And it's probably a cotton/poly blend with a shitty thread count, too.

WTF, people? One sheet? I don't get it. Someone PLEASE explain that to me.

My issues with it:

1.) Sheets are the barriers that get cleaned weekly (or bi-weekly if you are piece of shit like I have been lately, usually do it every Sunday). You take them off and wash them (warsh them for you people that only use one sheet) and then put them back on the bed. Then you have a sanitary envelope not full of mites and dead skin and sebaceous oils and old hair and fart air and love juices. I only wash (warsh) my blankets every few months or so. The duvet covers/comforter once a year or once a season depending on if the fucking dog got in the trash and snuck food onto my bed when I was at work and forgot to shut the bedroom door.

2.) Sheets and pillow cases are sets of things that should match, or at least "go."

3.) Sheets are soft and silky and smell lovely and keep your feet from getting trapped in a blanket. I don't tuck the bottom tightly because I have to have a foot hanging out, but I think I would be uncomfortable without a top sheet.

4.) Do you just buy individual fitted sheets? Have you never had the pleasure of a perfectly folded flat sheet?

5.) Do you people just use a sleeping bag for a comforter?

I sleep with just the fitted sheet on the bottom and a down comforter on top of me. I feel claustrophobic with the flat sheet all tucked in over me, and then once you get it untucked it gets all tangled up during the night. It's nothing but a pain in the ass .

Oh and I bought the largest capacity washer and wash all the blankets and duvets weekly. I'd have to do it either way because the damn dog sneaks up on the bed when I'm not home. I buy the complete set of sheets and all the top sheets are folded in the closet just going to waste. Maybe I could send them to Dick, he could use them as furniture covers for his dirty sofa.

Top sheet, bottom sheet & comforter, that's all that goes on my bed, no blankets. I do have a shit ton of pillows, six bed pillows & four decorative ones that line up across the front, all bed pillows on a tilt. I wouldn't try to do bedding on the cheap, you get what you pay for in this instance. Everything must match or be color coordinated.

I am wildly in love with my Sleepnumber bed. Best bed ever.

The only thing worser (intentional) than having only one sheet would be if that bottom sheet was flat instead of fitted. I've been to some hotels where they use flat sheets instead of fitted; it drives me nuts. Stupid things are falling off the bed halfway through the night.

i just took a couple pics of my bed headboard. it is a monstrosity. and it is blocking a big picture window in my bedroom. it looks out on the beautiful woods, i would love to be able to watch it rain or snow out there. but this fucking medieval headboard is attached to a CA. king waterbed frame, and i will need about 5 big guys to dismantle the sonofabitch and get it out of here. . but i'm going to do it and buy a new smaller bed. queen size is perfect for my height. you could fit about 6 people on this bed, but i don't want to. hahahaha

Well LC since you said you are looking to get rid of that big-ole-bed, you might just want to consider a crazy thought. By having the headboard cut down with a circular saw, (right in place) down to the lower frame of the window. View obtained, by just having to clean up some sawdust. Wood stain the raw edge.

Foster Pete Bowen, convicted on 34 counts of child molestation two months ago was sentenced to at least 302 years in prison.

Judge Paul Farrell told Bowen, "These 34 counts represent the tip of iceberg of probably thousands of rapes more than anyone in the history of WV. Each sex act was a separate crime. You are worse than any criminal you dealt with as a police officer. Nine men testified that you raped them over and over again. You brainwashed them as children it was okay to engage in these sex acts. You often picked children from broken homes."

Pete Bowen's defense attorney asked for acquittal. The motion was denied. Jay Love, the defense attorney told the court, "I ask that you consider and reflect on all the testimony."

Pete Bowen declined to comment when asked by the judge.

Prosecutor Chris Chiles told the court, "We heard from of the most courageous young men to say what they did on the stand and disclose terrible atrocities that could've happened to them. The only way justice can be served is if he can be serve consecutive sentences on all 34 counts."

A victim's mother said, "My son's life will forever be affected by that monster. He betrayed their trust. My kids lives are not going to be the same, he took it from them. He just took their lives away from them. You know you did it, and you know what you did to my boys. You looked at me in the face knowing what you did to my kids and now you'll live with that for the rest of your life. You're a monster and you know it."

Shane Wilburn, a victim from the ages of 8 to 14 told the court, "My life has been forever changed. He stole from me my childhood and trust in people. He killed the boy I was and the man who I would become. The mental abuse will always affect me. Although he has been convicted of his crimes, the suffering will never end. My mother will always have a heavy heart knowing what happened to her boys. This man deserves no mercy and has ruined the lives of so many."

Another victim told the court, "I'm glad what I had to admit on the stand has put away a monster. When I came forward, I felt pain like none before. I had to admit what I saw him do to other boys. I'm convinced Pete Bowen will never apologize to us. I pray he receives the maximum punishment."

Another victim says, "Only the full maximum will be justice served."

A victim's mother says, "How could you do this to children. At least my husband died before knowing what you did to his children. You locked my children in cages mentally for years. Now you'll be locked for years. They can fly but you will rot."

A victim's father says, "Pete Bowen, a few months ago we met and I confronted you about what you did to my son. You are the devil's brother. I could've ended your life, but God let you live for this day. Suffer, that's what I have to say to you."

As Bowen left the courtroom, Eyewitness News Anchor Dave Benton asked Bowen what it felt like to be convicted child molester and being sentenced to 302 years. Bowen responded by saying, "This is what it feels like!" while flipping his up his middle finger to the camera.

Bowen has 30 days to file a notice of appeal.

According to their testimony, Bowen enticed the young boys promising ATV rides, trips to his hunting cabin in Webster County and pornography.

Cabell County Prosecutor Chris Chiles says the alleged victims are all now in their late 20's. They came forward just a few weeks ago.

"On a couple of different occasions they would be in the Barboursville area and they saw Mr. Bowen with some young kids and they realized the same things that happened to them were still happening the way he was acting around those young kids," Chiles said Monday on MetroNews Talkline.

Chiles says once the investigation got underway they discovered some very disturbing information that lead them to make an immediate arrest.

"When we had information that not only did it happen to them but it was still going on today, we proceeded very vigorously,” he said. “And actually it was our understanding that he was perhaps going to be taking another young man up to the cabin this past weekend. We just couldn't let that happen again."

Chiles says at this point the men who have come forward say the alleged abuse took place in the 80's and 90's. But there's no suggestion that any illegal acts took place while Bowen was employed by the Huntington Police Department.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A South Charleston man accused of abusing his neighbor's goat has been found incompetent to stand trial.

Police charged 19-year-old Mark Lucas Thompson in May with animal cruelty and petit larceny. Witnesses reported he was standing near a neighbor's pygmy goat in a bedroom and was wearing a bra and female underwear. The goat had at least one stab wound.
