Raising the debt ceiling...
BEIJING—The U.S. credit-rating downgrade is piling more pressure on China to move away from an export-reliant economy that has produced mountains of currency reserves in declining dollars, though Chinese politicians, like those in Washington, often struggle to confront tough policy decisions needed to drive change.

Some analysts say that harsh Chinese rhetoric aimed at the U.S. following the downgrade of U.S. debt by Standard & Poor's on Friday demonstrates Beijing's desire to challenge global economic leadership by the U.S., which China believes is in inexorable decline.

I think he ate some ribs and raised some funds at his birfday party.

People that give that man money are fucking retarded. He isn't good with money. They should give towards the debt instead.

Obama doesn't spend much time running this country. Thank God, I guess.

Don't tell username but a real leader would have fucking at least made an appearance by now, that is unless it was within his plans for this shit to happen.

You know they still haven't repealed obamacare, how the fuck are we supposed to afford that shit?

They need to reopen the debtors prisons.

I believe one should hear from the source. Listen and draw your own conclusions. Or contrast and compare: "Then and Now".

My political views are shaped by my economic views. Not vice versa. As stated, I subscribe to Uncle Milty's philosophy more than I do Keynes. And yes, one CAN compromise and develop a hybrid including BOTH philosophies.

Maybe that's why they dropped the "and Political Science" after my two wonderful summers at LSE.

When did the disciplines of economics and politics merge into one?

Oh . . . I know! It's when the public drinks the Kool Aid offered by both Parties.

About three weeks ago, a few of my clients started liquidating between 15 and 20% of their portfolios.

The used the cash to by dirt cheap real estate. Cash is king.

You don't think foreign investors (yes . . . this includes foreign governments) are doing the same?

Hell . . . we're only down another 300 at the time of this post.

No worries!

I watched the first one. I had to leave just after the point where Obama said if the economy hadn't improved after 3 years, he wouldn't be entitled to re-election.

I pity the fool with a variable rate. Banks are salivating waiting for the "word" from on high.

After so many were stung with variable APR's, are they still offered?

When the interest rate is so low they only offer variable rates as it can only go up.

If you google "Obama blames" you get 451,000 results.

Because that's what he does: He blames.

I would make a racist comment here, but you all know me well enough by now.
