Lennon Lacy

Suicide or murder???

Lacy (Lennon's mom) said she found a number of problems with the case, including:

Police never inspected her son's room and never asked to see his cell phone
Lennon was found wearing a pair of sneakers that he did not own and that were two sizes too small.
Lennon was not depressed and was looking forward to a football game that night
Lennon was shy and would not have killed himself in such a public area.

Lennon was apparently dating a 31 y/o white woman (or they'd recently broken up). The age of consent there is 16, I gather.

Lennon had a new pair of Air Jordan shoes but instead was found wearing an unknown pair of shoes that were two sizes too small for him.

I've heard he was hung with either a belt or dog leash...neither of which his mother believes were his own.

Questions abound whether he could have physically hung himself as he was found.

His grave was desecrated shortly after he was buried.

I don't have an opinion as to whether it was suicide, murder, accidental death disguised, or something else.

But, it sounds like very little was done in terms of investigating Lennon's death and I'm glad it's being revisited.

Hard to believe police wouldn't even want to see the boy's cell phone and last known communications before closing the case.

I wonder if he left a note? Did he know anybody who lived in the trailer park? Were there drugs found in his system?

The shoe thing is very weird, if mom's info is accurate. Doesn't seem likely Lennon would have been killed for his sneakers. Where are his shoes and whose shoes was he wearing?

Lotta questions...

IMO, this was certainly not a suicide; what I read few weeks ago about case, circumstances just didn't jibe with a suicide. I was happy to hear that they are finally investigating. If my detective skills are correct, this was a murder.

Good sign, user.

Lennon's case is hitting the national media. More eyes and increased pressure on authorities to fully investigate are positive developments in his case, IMO.

Snip:
A lawyer from the NAACP is helping the family, and the organization also hired an independent pathologist to review Lacey's official autopsy.

Some clues about the swing set are raising questions about whether the death was in fact a suicide. For instance, the beam was seven and a half feet off the ground, and there was nothing Lacey could have stood on.

According to the NAACP investigation, the state medical examiner was never provided a photograph of the swing set where Lacey was found hanging.
