smart phone for tech-twits
#1
everyone knows i am a tech-twit.

so

last week i bought a new smart phone and an ear thingy (bluetooth) too. i was determined to join the 21st century. actually, i was dragged protesting mightily!

well i should have just kept my old STUPID phone! 22 Argh

this thing has an instruction manual bigger than the one for my new car. it took me 2 days to figure out how to answer it. and that ear thingy worked in the store, but i spent 24 hours at home cursing and swearing at it. Furious turns out the battery in the new freaking phone had to be rebooted.

now i have this thing and have no clue what half the functions are for.

There's the added benefit of how cool you'll look with that thing sticking out of the side of your head so it might be worth the learn.

At my gym the ladies like to stuff their iPhones in their sports bra while working out.
I don't know why I volunteered that information other than I feel it has relevance here.

Yeah, but you'll look cool at the bar when you're cruising for men.

We here in Ca. must use hands free of some sort while driving or chance a stiff fine. Which is weird because I see SD Co. Sheriff's Dep's talking on cell phones all the time.

Law enforcement is exempt.

(I'm a bit surprised and not a little disappointed I needed to tell you that.)

A dumb phone is probably what most of us SHOULD use. I'm sure I'm only tapping in to about 30% of what my phone offers.

So, LC, are you asking for instructions or just our empathy?

It makes you guys look really bad when you (that's a general you) use the ol' "do as I say not as I do" pass...just sayin'.

LE needs to utilize phones, pagers and radios for essential communications. it's not a matter of being a privileged character.
