The only thing I remember as a kid, was that my fathers side of the family would always go to a legion/elks/moose hall and have a huge party after the funeral, and my mothers side would take all the flowers off the grave and all go home.

I took my 11 yo to a funeral service last year, he was fine-I gave him the option of going and he said he didn't care either way, because he didn't know the person that well to begin with.

Speaking of being a kid around dead people...when I was about 8 or 9 my cousin's grandfather died. Our mothers decided it would be a good thing to send the two of us in to see him together..my cousin was a couple years younger. The damn old guy was laid out in the living room for god's sake. I could never go into that house again with out picturing the dead guy laid out there.

I just got back from spending a week at Mi-te-jo Campground-absolutely beautiful weather all week. We had a storm come through last Sunday, and it destroyed my canopy, so my cousin dropped off her tarp, and yesterday's storm took that one out. Other than that, sunny and high 80's on a beach front site. I was in Heaven.
