I am an Obama supporter who has to concede and give Mitt this one. My only issue would be that Mitt's debate coaches may want to remind him it is NOT cool to step on the moderator's words when he is speaking. The moderator could have done better in keeping Mitt on track, instead of letting his own words get talked over.

I think I would disagree a bit... in too many debates the moderators cut off and stifle real exchanges and conversation between the candidates.

Last night I really enjoyed that both men were able to spar and speak freely without a lot of interference. I know it wasn't supposed to go like that, but I think that helps people make decisions in a better framework. Moderators tend to keep these debates structured into little sound bites, and I think that is counterproductive and lets candidates get lazy with canned answers. That robs the voter of the opportunity to see who the candidate might really be, rather than the polished persona that gets presented in a pretty package.

Just my $.02, with a little alliteration thrown in for free.

Why do you think he was so awful? I know they've both been prepping for the debate for awhile.

No teleprompter to read from so he had to think/speak for himself. hah

It goes way beyond that; the lame stream media has no one to blame but themselves. They have not asked the guy a serious question in 5 years. He was living in a bubble; well, it got burst last night.

I haven't listened to an Obama speech for at least 3 years until last night. The man simply cannot speak without a teleprompter. He sucked, plain and simple. Why couldn't he look his opponent in the eye? Michelle didn't look very happy when she walked up on stage...I'm thinkin no anniversary lovin for O last night.

I had a co worker tell me they had a debate 'party'...Played a drinking game and whenever a candidate said a certain word they had to take a drink.
Had they decided to take a drink every time O said ummmm, they all would have died of alcohol poisoning.

Is ummmm a word...hah

I'll use a football analogy to describe last night's debate.

Remember when the 49ers had to fly to Minnesota to play the Vikings in a game that they'd win just by showing up?

Then, the Vikes decided to play, and the 49ers got punched in the mouth?

Same thing here. I think Obama's prep was minimal (obviously) and he figured Romney would be such a buffoon, that as long as he (Obama) didn't make any monumental gaffes, the debate (and election) would be his to lose.

So let's see how the Prez responds. Will it be like the 49ers, who after their loss at Minnesota responded with a 34-0 blanking of the Jets? Or will it continue in a downward spiral.

I think we'll see a different Obama at the next debate.

I think Mid West Spy's analogy is Spot-on. Obama thought that all he needed to do was 'Show Up'.

You have to remember he is still a pup compared to many who have been career polititians much longer. They should all have 6 yr term limits at best anyways but thats a different thread.

Very true! And now more then ever in these difficult turmoil times, we (America) need a ballsy, savvy, shrewd leader. Which BHO is far from any of those attributes. Unfortunately, the Mittler (as Ms D calls him) may not be any better. We're doomed!

I think the Mormons saw it coming:

"As a result of his rebellion, Cain was cursed and told that "the earth" would not thereafter yield him its abundance as previously. In addition he became the first mortal to be cursed as a son of perdition...The Lord placed on Cain a mark of a dark skin, and he became the ancestor of the black race. (Moses 5; Gen. 4; Teachings, p. 169)." (Mormon Doctrine, by Bruce McConkie, p. 109.)

In 1978, Mormon church leaders led by Spencer W. Kimball declared they had received a revelation instructing them to reverse the racial restriction policy. This will go a long way to answer the age old question...Who da baby daddy?
