What is WRONG with people?

I find myself saying this several times a day. People that kill their children. People that jump from space or whatever. People that are just so vile I can't even grasp what the fuck must be wrong with them. There are people that react to situations here on Mock and IRL that make me shake my head thinkg what the????

What do you think it is with people these days? Is it because our lives have become so complicated with jobs and school and technology and activities? When I was a kid we played outside. We had our bikes and a basketball and hoop, gloves and bats for baseball, footballs...stuff like that. My boys and their friends have these super fancy bikes and scooters and skateboards. No one can just get a normal bike anymore. My mom cooked dinner and we ate it. There was none of that I don't want that. Or take me here and there and get me this and that.

This world just seems so fucked up these days and the things I read in the news are just mind blowing sometimes. And I am not talking about a good news story either.

What the fuck is wrong with people??? Did we have all this depravity 30 or 40 years ago? I wish we could go back to a simpler life style.

Couple of quick observations:

1- Your ability to find out/discover how depraved individuals are is easier and transparent.
2- There is less shame with people, in general.

It is probably a bit more present that 30 or 40 years ago, but not by much. 40 years ago we did not have the Interwebs and 24 hour media coverage to bring everything out into the open. Things were hidden better back in the old days..and not spoken of.
Look at all the cases today of adult men saying they were abused by their priest 30 years ago! And they are just coming out now.

Years ago if someone drove you nuts you could get rid of them easy as long as you had half a brain a new dam or foundation or even a new pool would work. Today with DNA and CSI and all these knucklheads that have nothing better to do than bitch about what the other guy has, squashing someone out of existance requires more effort, plus they are putting the damn cameras in trees for christ sake, and headlights stay on after you shut them off.

So what do you come here for if you lump some of us in with vile baby killers? I'm sure the people that jump from space wouldn't appreciate being lumped in with them either. I think the real question here is what the fuck is wrong with you.

On the one hand I hate "pc". On the other hand I think we've lost a lot of the general civility and manners shown by previous generations. I don't think there's as much general respect out there.

Growing up, had I shown disrespect towards my elders I would have been in some deep shit. Often when I'm out & about and see young people treating their parents and/or other adults with extreme disregard I know that if I or my brothers had done anything like that we wouldn't have seen the light of day for a good long time. We knew there were consequences for our actions.
