The truth is that I sat out in a field near my house, with my rifle, for quiet and solitude.

The deer wandered within 20 feet of me.

Dang, wrong place at the right time.

I'm still just hanging my head in disbelief. Trying to re-adjust the mindset. Online and all.

You got it bad Disciple. I'm smiling sadly, and shaking my head at that reply.

In my way, I loved LC. But you got it bad. God Bless. But rethink killing the innocent deer, please, dear. Gift, or not. Better yet, go Vegan.

I hope people that are not in favor of hunting deer realize that there are way too many of them now.

They need to be hunted. In the upper Midwest there are thousands of car/deer accidents each year.

With their natural predators in short supply, they HAVE to be hunted.

Perhaps you're right, Adub.

But science teaches us that energy/matter cannot be destroyed and I believe that her spirit lives on.

Also that many people, in experiencing the events in their lives, too often see coincidence when they should see connection.

Agreed. I see at least one deer slaughtered by a semi everyday of the week this time of year on the interstate.

It probably doesn't make a difference to the peta types or vagans that A LOT of hunted deer get processed and donated to the food banks for the homeless and hungry.

I can't even imagine the chaos if we couldn't hunt, and didn't have the controlled deer hunts to help thin out the deer population.

There are controlled hunts here & the extreme animal lovers go batshit crazy. Even I understand the need to thin the herd due to overpopulation. Overpopulation leads to several things not just accidents on the highways.

Maggot, just wanted to post a few pics for ya man. I've spent quite a bit of time in stand the last couple days. In fact I am on a lunch break now and heading back to stand in less than 1 hour. The largest thing that walked by this morning was a 8 so I let them all walk. I did see 5 deer this morning and 4 were bucks [1 spike, 1 fork, a 6 & a 8]. The rut must be just around the corner.
Anyway here are a few pics.
