I learned early on that my parents couldn't fulfil my needs as an individual, I had to do that on my own, I wasn't raised to be an independant thinker, very few kids are, I had to develope that on my own, I was raised with a work ethic, but the determination to work was up to me.
You can raise your kids however you want, if they are worth a shit they will eventually break away and do their own thing, and be much the better for it, if they don't, fix a room in the basement they will be living with you well into their 40,s.

Nope. I have never been caught up in the mass delusion upon which charismatic religions are based. If I want a high, I will smoke a j. Somehow I have managed to enjoy life in the unaltered state the last few years. I will admit to shrooms and Carlos Castaneda in my younger days, and I have read quite a bit of literature on subjects dealing with standard religion, ye olde religions, radical awakening/awareness, pretty much everything but Islam (they can fuck off), but I just try to live a life that leaves me little room for regret. If I fuck up, I don't need guidance. I just need not to do that again. I find religion is for the weak or predatory. I'm not either.
It takes more work my way. I don't have the luxury of praying for Jebus to send me a check in the mail or take away my misery. Instead I deal with the suckier parts of life and wake up in the morning whether I feel like it or not. I just keep on truckin', baby.
