IMO, the main thing that distinguished the European savage from the indigenous savage was technological development. I take what Gandhi said re Western Civilization to apply to the very notion of civilization, and conclude that it remains a "good idea".
That said, Jackson was one of a handful of Democrats who opposed secession, he vigorously defended the US economy against the depredations of foreign bankers, and his duel against Charles Dickinson is the stuff of legend. So there!

I bet it's up to 4.50 by the end of next week. 5 days ago it was 98.00 a barrel today it's up to 1.10. This summer it will be 5.00 at least.

I drove by a place today where I am sure I saw $4.86. I had to drive back to it to see how much I was off. $1
But I went to the Safeway and used my rewards points and paid $3.55.
If it gets too high I can walk to work and most places. I'm not worried.
