RE: Tik Tok is really going away eh,? - MirahM - 01-19-2025 There is a fear that China could potentially collect user information and send propaganda to try to sway Americans. I thought I would find more specific info...but didn't. RE: Tik Tok is really going away eh,? - Duchess - 01-19-2025 Thanks, Angel Baby. Somehow I thought it must be worse than what is already done to Americans by their own leaders, but I was wrong. It's pretty much a certainty that China does that because that's what social media platforms were created and designed to do. As for propaganda, that's been around for hundreds of years. The argument that can fairly be made is that China heavily censors what it's people are exposed to, but it doesn't pretend to be a democracy like the Western nations do. What this is about is the Western nations are abandoning that pretense and becoming overtly totalitarian, with the objective being a global technocratic oligarchy. Whether Trump really intends to try and maintain American economic hegemony is uncertain, but I doubt it. He talks like he does in public but what he says in private is no doubt very different. I think he fully supports technocratic oligarchy and will do everything he can to accelerate it's transformation into a global governing structure with absolute control of everything people do. Censorship makes this far easier to achieve. I also think all of the powerful nations in the world are on board with this, including Russia and China. I expect the masses to understand this very clearly within the next few months because the masks are off. You need only look at what private equity has been doing over the last four years to understand what should be expected under Trump. It will be worse than it's been under Biden, and Biden is good friends with private equity. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said prior to the election that it makes no difference who wins. BlackRock manages in excess of ten trillion dollars and is invested in every major corporation in the US, perhaps the world. If Fink hadn't wanted Trump to win, he wouldn't have. If anyone doubts what I'm saying I'll start a private equity thread and post what I've found over the last few years. The proverbial fat lady hasn't sung yet, but the stakes couldn't be any higher as far as humanity is concerned. We either come to our senses and pull together, or we're toast. Also AOC had some words about the ban-but I can't be bothered to go get them and attempt to copy/paste it here. Tried to reinstall it through the app store and it says"Looking for Tiktok? The app is paused due to US legal issues." I guess still no Tiktok for me....forever.
