I finally found it! The photo I saved of OP's philosophy about people not being easier, defenseless victims. This picture was taken around 25 seconds after someone asked him if he would be visiting the graves and hospital rooms of the thousands of elderly each year that successfully use firearms to stop attackers from raping, beating, and killing them.

i keep thinking about all those people on the bus...was there NOBODY who could have tackled the fucker? evidently not. i understand being in shock, but christ. even i, armed or not, would have done SOMETHING. but since i'm usually armed, he would have been double-tapped. that kid was 5'4" and 130 pounds. helpless in the face of attack. how could anyone not intervene??

The kid was probably dead after the first few stabs. Unlikely to have time to save him. That is why we can wait for Knife Control in the PC future. Anyway, 50 stabs is A LOT. Like I said, he was lucky there wasn't a guy there with a weapon who had someone to protect. My first reaction would be to grab a weapon (or grab my weapon) in case he comes to my direction or near someone I know. At least, that's been my reaction the two times I've been in situations where someone was getting very violent and it was unknown why or if and when they will stop. Maniacs pick defenseless places and people - like at schools, companies, etc. That guy would have been shot dead by the fourth stab if he did that in the town my inlaws are in over at TN.
