Without googling it, I'd wager that there was a much higher incidence of miscarriage, infant mortality and mothers dyiing during childbirth in the olden days too.
You're ignorant if you think that you can't over do physical labor or exercise during pregnancy.

I never said women shouldn't do anything while they're pregnant, but you should use some common sense while exercising, and running a marathon at 38 weeks pregnant is retarded. If you cared anything about having a birth with no complications then you'd just wait untill after the baby to run a fucking marathon, the stupid red headed bitch.

The simple fact is that the woman went to her doctor, He allowed the exercise, the baby was born, and not one of the dooms day scenarios that have been suggested by the weaker sex came to pass.

Yeah, it used to be very common for pregnant pioneer women to run marathons, they picked up some real speed in their aprons and pantaloons. Not only that, but they strapped the wagons to their backs while doing it.
