No, the right to keep and bear arms = liberty's teeth and means by which to protect what we, the People, are responsible for (our safety and freedom).
We don't leave it up to Queens and political fucks - that's not having the balance of power be with the People.
You don't understand that because your Nation was born out of a medieval notion of tyranny and having subjects as citizens. So you don't appreciate the long-term principles of freedom, which includes containing the size and scope of a centralized Government and letting it have as little power as necessary. That is the lesson our Founding Fathers knew from studying history and the likes of Nations like England.
That is the whole point of our Constitution/Bill of Rights - to limit the size and scope of Government. That is why we, and history, know it's absurd to say a People are free and with the balance of power over their politicians if they are denied the right and means to effectively defend themselves from anyone that would take away their freedom or safety.
You, on the other hand, think cell phones and a medieval Queen are the right track. You, on the other hand, are from a culture born out of the concept that the shop should have an owner ordained by God (royalty) with people as the worker slaves (subjects) not allowed to have the keys.
You either think the People should NOT be responsible for their government, safety, and freedom ... or you do and don't want them to have the tools or actual balance of power.
