Trump is so politicized -- partly his own fault, not entirely -- that anyone who associates with him runs a fairly substantial risk of government retaliation. This has happened before over the last 100 years.

Rudy Giuliani--lost his license to practice because of election fraud claims.
Sidney Powell--under investigation for overseeing an effort to copy sensitive election data and coordinating a breach in Georgia election files.
John Eastman--asked former VP to break the law and halt the proceedings to certify the 2020 election.
Christina Bobb--signed a letter attesting that a diligent search had been conducted and all stolen material that had been at MAL had been returned to the government. That was a lie and she knew it.
Michael Cohen went to prison for things he did at trump's direction.
Every single thing these lawyers got in trouble for are things they did at the direction of trump. They are adults with free will and they find themselves in this position because of the actions they undertook.

If you don't think that's politics then you're 3-4 cans shy of a 6-pak. This level of corruption is normal in Washington DC. Sending out subpoenas to everyone associated with a particular person is not normal. The rules have changed, not the unethical/illegal conduct.

You can't know that prior to prosecution taking place. In some instances you're right, in most instances it's speculation or assumption.
