Johnette Napolitano, lead singer for Concrete Blonde, has one of those voices like Chrissie Hynde, Grace Slick, and Elaine "Spanky" McFarland.
Powerful, haunting and soulful. "True" was the cut that turned me on to them. Coconut Teaszer, LA, late 80's . . . downstairs.
I loved the California music scene, back in the day. No . . . I loved California, back in the day.
And 91 X was THE station back in the 80's, out of Tijuana, for the best cutting-edge alternative music.

Foo Fighters hold a cherished spot in my memories. Loved the way they never appeared to take themselves seriously.
And I kinda had a little crush on Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl.
Here is one I crank up the volume to and sing along.
And Taylor Hawkins is an amazing Drag "stewardess", in this video! Grohl's characters are fabulous, too.
