Actually,  you might be right.   The hemi in a dodge has way more horsepower than the 442 in a chevelle.

I had a friend whose parents raced fords on a straight strip. Used to go with her and we would make $10 running the time tickets. It was so fun. But I knew nothing of cars back then, and can't say I know much more now.

They were 350 blocks with 400 rods in them and decked heads. Far better engine than the 400 ever was. They were too thin in the block and ended up getting an ovality and reduced compression after too many heat cycles.

Pretty sure they also put L78 (402ci?) engines in the Chevelle 396 too?
