Granny Clampett was 59 when she got that role.
Grandma Walton was 61 when she started that series.
Endora from Bewitched was 64.
Granted, those are all actresses, but they didn't look much, if any, different from their characters.

Emma Gatewood walked the Appalachain trail at 67. She was the first solo female thru hiker to walk the 2,168 mile trail in 1955. She then became the first person to walk it 3 times. Her story is quite extraordinary and often inspires me.

Grandparents today, particularly grandmothers, are not the grandparents of our parents generation, they are not cookie baking baby sitters, not like so many used to be anyway and many living in senior communities where they have an agenda nearly everday of playing tennis, golf, etc. Life begins anew with retirement.

My grandparents always seemed old to me. My grandma had the old lady perm and made the best damn pies I ever ate and my grandpa was a preacher man. When I visited them all we did was go to church and eat pie.

What I am inspired by is that I do see alot of people going back to farming and gardening and a simpler way of life. At least all of the Instagram influencers I follow with a million viewers!
