The people who posted these say they are true. Some are harmless, funny secrets, others are dark like these. There is a website devoted to this, postsecret.com.

Some of those are funny. You have to make an effort...you can't just post a secret, you have to send in a postcard.

The 9⁄11 secret was what drew me to the story when it popped up on my welcome screen. I'm curious to know what kind of life that person had before 9/11, whatever it was like it obviously was bad enough that person would rather be thought dead than to go back to it.

Either that, or he/she had a fuck-ton of debt they wanted to go away.
