Because in this instance the quote can be interpreted in more than one way. When you ignore that, you demonstrate a lack of objectivity and understanding of the functions of language.
Wars usually end when one side surrenders. If you don't understand something that basic, you shouldn't expect to be able to express an informed opinion on the subject.

Personally, I think Trump was acknowledging that if a deal is made it will be on Russia's terms. The only reason the Ukrainian gov't refuses to discuss terms of surrender is because when the war ends it will collapse and it's leaders will have to flee for their lives. They're hated, as is NATO. The people know perfectly well that the carnage and devastation was entirely avoidable -- unlike the gullible fools that believe the Western narrative.
But who knows, maybe Mark is right and Trump will pull a rabbit out of the hat.

That's a steaming hot load of shite. Ukraine was beaten long before Trump was voted back in.
Truth be told, tho, Ukraine is a NATO territory, which explains why the war continues. NATO doesn't want to admit that it screwed the pooch. It's more concerned
about saving face than it is about Ukraine getting steamrolled, and ditto for Trump, who said he'd end the war on day 1.
