the Cape and islands now appear likely to experience hurricane-force winds from Hurricane Earl, officials have upgraded the region from a hurricane watch to a warning.
Cape Cod, the Islands and the south-facing coast of Massachusetts are under the hurricane warning, federal emergency officials said during a press conference phone call this morning.
“The message today is this is a day of action,” Federal Emergency Management Agency administrator Craig Fugate said. “Conditions are going to deteriorate rapidly.”
